The ScarabPay team · Updated 15 October 2026

An eSIM is a digital SIM installed on your phone without a plastic card. It gives you mobile data while travelling at local prices.

Plan types

  • Single-country: for one country.
  • Regional: for several countries in one region.
  • Global: for many countries worldwide.

Does my phone support eSIM?

  • Most recent iPhones and many recent Android phones support eSIM.
  • Your phone must be unlocked (not tied to one carrier).
  • To check: on iPhone, look for Add eSIM in Cellular settings; on Android, look for an eSIM option in Network or SIM settings.
Before you buyMake sure your phone is compatible — once installed, a plan is tied to the device it was installed on.
